Importance of Setting Goals

Setting goals needs a plan and vision
And steps to be followed
It’s as simple as that.

For an online business
it means:

A plan to set up a business
A  vision to earn money

What steps does it need ?

  • A personal or corporate business
  • A website and a niche
  • A logo and a branding
  • A product or a service
  • A call to action and a landing page
  • A mailing list with follow up
  • A social media presence

For some of us,
it all remains obscure
Since webbuilding is an art
Not learned overnight

DIY ( Do It Yourself) takes time and effort

For others, tickets do not matter
They have their own designers
Web builders, logo makers
And content writers

DFY ( Done for you) needs money

Go the learning curve

A compromise would be
To learn and build your own
To grow your site, step by step

This is exactly what you will find
on the wealthy affiliate website
A website dedicated to (l)earning

A free website
A free account
And lots of help from an active community

  1. Thanks a lot for sharing with us such an amazing article about Importance of Settings Goals.

A very good article about goals, I read a lot of articles about it, but this is the best I have read. It is very important to work hard for our goals to achieve them.

    Thanks again for this article

    1. Yes… achievable, realistic, challenging, selective… the list is long… make sure it serves your purpose and focus. Thank you for your kind comment

  2. Great article.

I saw an interesting video on goal setting by Shane Melaugh (CEO of Thrive Themes). Shanes quite the productivity expert and he was talking about shifting mindset from longterm outcome-based goals to gamified process-orientated goals. The idea is developing fun processes that take you towards your goal so it takes the emphasis off the distance you still have to go.

An example being weight loss; for most it’s a goal that’s never seen, but if you tie it into something you enjoy like sport or dance it’s no longer a chore.

The challenge becomes can you gamify your business processes?

Shane also makes the point that if you can’t enjoy the process are you in the right game?

  3. Thank you for this sound truth, I also use the Wealthy Affiliate platform and I must say that the platform saves you the stress of DIY and also saves you the cost of DFY by creating a community that is ready to help you and also very rich trainings that are free and made available for you to access.

  4. It is interesting that your post showed up when I just finished Anthony Robbins, personal power work shop when he was making me writing down my goal with the tape. Isn’t this a law of attractions or what?

When I did the marketing workshop with my company we have something similar to your SMART goal but us is SMAC goal. Which is specific, measurable, attainable and challenging. I like them both to be honest. 🙂

Other people usually write down their goal only once a year but I like to remind myself (by writing) every morning when I wake up so I am focus and I have seen improvement.

    Cheers to setting goals!

    1. Hi Nuttanee… challenging,  creative, cost effective… indeed! Thank you for adding to the list… strange indeed…once we pay attention to it,  Synchronicity Seems everyHere. And all falls into pieces. Great reading indeed! Thank you for sharing your experience and i sights

  5. Hi Fleeky

No matter what you do in life,  a business or a project you need to plan and set goals. If you do not set goals then you will not achieve everything in a timely fashion. This is because most people when they plan they set unrealistic goal that even the most active person will struggle to achieve. It is better to set a number of small goals that are achievable than one big goal that often fails. Baby steps rather than one giant leap to the unknown. Thank you for reminding me of this important issue especially when you are setting up an online business.

    Thanks

    Antonio

    1. Yes, Antonio… life has its own ways coming in between… little steps, one by one… just walk the path.

  6. I am glad to see your article. I have been working in the online world. Your article caught my eye. Thank you so much for sharing a beautiful and helpful article. I’m still looking for ways to make a passive income so I read a lot of articles on the internet. You have put here very helpful steps that can be useful. A very good article with useful information, one of the best I have read, I will certainly try those steps. Thanks again for this post.

  7. This is a very interesting and positive way to present the Wealthy Affiliate program. You pique interest by providing a comparison of whether it is more beneficial to “go it alone” or to take advantage of many peoples experiences in setting up your business. You are starting well. From what you have already worked on you have an organized website thus far. Keep filling in the blanks and before you know it your full-fledged website will be just humming along.

  8. Nice post on the importance of setting goals. Whether that is personal or professional, having specific goals in place can help make a game plan easier to understand.

I’ve always got in the habit of setting goals- to hold myself accountable. It helps reduce anxiety (and for myself) stay focused when it comes to projects. I believe more people should set goals for themselves.

What’s one specific goal you recommend to someone working on their own? Or running their own business? I’m just curious.

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. The importance of goal setting cannot and should not be underestimated in anyway. Goals are similar to visions. It’s a picture of what we want to achieve. In my online business, I have planned some strategies that involves me learning, investing in tools and services, take action and earn. I have great goals and I am willing to wait until I actualise them all.

    Regards!

    1. Just make sure to use the 100 steps to achieve your road… a big goal is ade of many small ones… achieve daly and keep focus on the road…
